Gates of Olympus POP has no ante and no buy. Some regulators, including Great Britain's Gambling Commission, don't allow bonus buys at all, so these buttons can be missing at your casino.
What our six bonus rounds paid
We played each game's free demo on at a $2.00 bet, with virtual credits. These are the final screens.
Three bought rounds lost money and two won big. Over five buys we put in $2,100 of play money and took out $3,005.70, a result that depends almost entirely on the two best rounds. With a 96.5% RTP, the long-run expectation for real money is a loss of about 3.5% of what you spend.
Should you buy the bonus?
On paper the buy costs about the same in RTP terms as spinning, so the question is about risk, not value.
- A buy is one big bet. 100 bets go into a single round. If the orbs don't come, most of it is gone in a minute.
- Size it to your budget. If one buy is more than a small slice of what you're prepared to lose today, lower the base bet or don't buy.
- Expensive buys are bigger bets, not better ones. Super Free Spins and 2500's 1,250x option carry the same RTP as the 100x buy.
- Never buy to win back losses. Chasing with a bigger buy is how budgets disappear.
When the ante bet makes sense
The ante spreads the extra cost over many spins: 25% more per spin in most games for twice the chance of free spins. It suits players who prefer to reach the bonus naturally and enjoy the base game. In Super Scatter the ante also adds more Super Scatters to the reels, and in 2500 the higher ante levels cost up to 5.5x per spin, which drains a budget quickly. Remember the buy button switches off while the ante is on.
